Welcome to Made in USA Forever.com!

October 31st, 2007

As founder of Made in USA Forever.com, I want to welcome you to our web site and my blog. Over the coming months and years, I will be addressing issues regarding turning around the USA’s shrinking manufacturing ability, how we can make a difference, foreign trade, product safety issues, and naturally discussing products for sale on this website.

America is in trouble, but we can do something about it. As an avid history reader and business person who has worked both in the USA and a lot of years in Asia, I have an unique perspective on the situation.

I want to thank the great suppliers who have had the faith to join with us for our launch of Made in USA Forever.com, including Ion Actif, Texas Jeans, Bedhead Pajamas, Union Made, King Louie, A.S. Tee, Amana Woolen Mill, Maple Landmark Toys, Bamboosa, Andrew Rohan, and Wickers. You guys and gals are the best!

Many more cool products from innovative suppliers are on the way shortly, so please keep checking back.

Together let’s do something really great!

Please feel free to send me ideas about potential new suppliers or whatever you want to mention at todd@madeinusaforever.com.

Hooray for your site and promotion of manufacturers willing to keep their businesses in the U.S.A.
My husband ordered winter boots from Cabela’s after being assured that they had NOT been made in China. When he received the boots, he found “Made in China” under the tongue so he sent them back to Cabelas. He did find a new pair of boots at a yard sale, of all places!, for $10 and they weren’t made in China so he bought them. We never dreamed that one day we’d have to look outside of our American stores to find something not imported into this country. We have our own two-person boycott going by refusing to buy foreign-made items but it’s really hard and sometimes seems impossible. At the grocery store, for just a few weeks, the meat department had a list of what countries frozen fish originated in but the list was taken down and has not been replaced. I put your site into “favorites” so that when we wish to buy, we can go to your site first. Thanks a million and don’t give up!

I totally agree with everything you said about protecting American manufacturers. I am 28 years old, and I had the very same idea for a website that you have created about 5 years ago, but I did not know how to implement my idea. My dad has a business that has dealt with the furniture industry for over 30 years. The problem is, the furniture industry is basically gone from this country. Luckily, we have been able to branch out into other industries, but it has been tough to survive. I am so tired of seeing the majority of products being sold in this country coming from other countries, and especially China where they allow 9 year old children to work in their factories for almost nothing. I really hope their standard of living gets better in China, but why should it be at our country’s expense? It shouldn’t be, plain and simple. I really hope your website does well and I definitely plan to shop here in the future. Maybe you could find some made in USA furniture to sell. There are still some very small furniture shops around. I found your site tonight because I was curious if anyone had implemented my idea yet. At least I will be able to tell people that I had the same idea and that I COULD’ve been rich… hahaha. Good luck and best wishes.

I sell Bath and Body products made in Missouri. I like to hear there are still companies making our products. The only thing I notice is that some people prefer to buy products from elswhere is because they say the cost of our products are too high, although alot of our products are comparible in price and quality.
